Where are the cabins located?

 

The cabins are located just south of Carbondale off Giant City Road.  The physical address is 145 Cabin Hill Road, Carbondale, IL  62902.     The cabins are in the country, yet less than ten minutes from the University Mall, Kroger Grocery Store, Super WalMart, and Southern Illinois University. 

 

How many log cabins do you have?

 

There are three cabins. Each cabin sits on a wooded hillside and overlooks a peaceful valley.

 

What are the rates to rent the log cabin?

 

Please go to our information page and check rates.  You will find that our rates are very reasonable.

 

Is there a cleaning fee?

 

A cleaning fee will not be charged if the following things are done before checking out.:

1. Wash all dishes used.
2. Empty all trash cans.
3. Wipe off kitchen counters, table, stove and sink.
4. Put all dirty towels in hamper.

 

If these few things are not done, a cleaning fee of $20.00 will be added to your bill.

 

Can I reserve the log cabin on-line?

 

You sure can!  Just check the availability calendar, check the dates you want to reserve and then fill out the reservation form, or you can call us at 618-529-5667.

 

How do I pay for my lodging?

 

We accept Visa & MasterCard.  You can also pay with a personal check, as long as we receive it a minimum of 14 days prior to your reservation date.  Either payment method you choose, you must have a valid Visa or MasterCard charge card to make your reservation. (no debit cards please)

 

What happens after I make a reservation?

 

We will call you and verify your reservation date and get details of how you plan to pay.  We will then mail you a reservation confirmation form along with a map of the area. 

 

Do rates vary from season to season?

 

No, rates are the same all year round.

 

If necessary, how do I cancel my reservation?

 

All you need to do is call or email us at least 7 days prior to your reservation. If you don't cancel and we can't rent the cabin you will be charged full price.

 

Are children allowed?

 

Of course!  We just ask that you supervise your children closely.  The hot tub, fireplace, and loft area can be dangerous to small children. 

 

Are pets allowed?

 

If you like to travel with your dog or dogs, that’s fine.  We just ask that your dog(s) be leashed when outside and crated when left in the cabin alone.  We do have crates that you are welcome to use. 

 

Is smoking allowed?

 

Sorry, we ask that you not smoke in the cabins. Smoking inside will ruin the natural pine smell of the logs.

 

What items are provided in the cabin?

 

We provide:  bedding, towels, toilet paper, Kleenex, bath and hand soap, dish soap, trash bags,  paper towels, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, First Aid kit, candles,  washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, filters, coffee, sugar, sweetener packets, cream, salt and pepper, can opener, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans. 

 

Outside we provide:  lawn chairs, picnic table,  porch swing, rockers, fire pit, wood, hot tub, gas grill, and oil torches.

 

For your entertainment we also provide:  playing cards, board games, TV with satellite and DVD with movies.

 

What do I need to bring?

 

You need to bring your personal items, food, and beverages. 

 

Please note, that if you would like to have snacks and beverages waiting for you when you arrive, we’ll be happy to do your shopping for you.  Just call or email us with your shopping list and we’ll take care it it for you.  We do charge a $25.00 fee for this service, which will be billed to your credit card along with the amount of purchases.  (must be 21 years or older to purchase alcohol)

 

How do I check in and out?

 

We do live near by, but may not always be there when you arrive.  You will receive a door code to unlock the cabin along with your reservation confirmation form and map.  Remember, check in time is 3:00 p.m. or later and check out time is 11:00 a.m.  This gives us time to get the cabin ready for the next visitors.

 

What the heck am I going to do in Southern Illinois?

 

There are so many things to see and experience in this area.  Check our area attractions and local links for more information.  We will also provide brochures and maps in the cabin, to give you some ideas. You won’t be bored!
